the dinky ninja fight team

It’s been a long, long time since I’ve written anything here. As those who know me well will understand, I’ve been going through some quite challenging times in life – using at least another 4 of my 9 lives in the past few years. I think that takes me up to 14 used thus far.

In addition to using up more than my fair share of cats lives I decided last year that I wanted to leave Reportage by Getty Images and this has led to an enormous amount of work, whilst planning my future as a photographer – filmmaker. You might have noticed that my website has been down for sometime whilst It gets re-designed. Hopefully within the next few months I will be able to launch a new web platform which will enable me to operate in a much more efficient and self sufficient way. It’s exciting!!

The new site will also incorporate my blog as well – so I’ll keep everyone posted when I make the swap and hope to see most or all of you on the new site.

Now – to the reason I’m rambling today! I’ve just heard that the short film I made “The Dinky Ninja Fight Team” will be screened on Channel 4 this Wednesday evening/Thursday morning. It’s a late one kicking off at 00.20am, and will be finished just before 1am.

I think it’s probably on so late due to this one very short scene with two fighters Dean and Graham rubbing oil all over each others ridiculously muscular bodies in a London hotel room – but I might be wrong.

If you didn’t catch my previous post about the film it’s an insight into the lives of a group of guys who are part of the Dinky Ninja Fight Team from the Griphouse gym in Glasgow. The film follows each of these modern day warriors as they prepare for and compete in the fastest growing sport in the world – Mixed Martial Arts.

A couple of them, Robert Whiteford and Graham Turner, fought again at the weekend winning title belts at Vision at the Kelvinhall so here is a preview of what’s involved:-

I hope some of you get a chance to see it – it would be great to get some feedback!

Talk soon when I’ve got more news about the new site and new beginnings.

Peace! 🙂
